Woody informs Kim that Austin Penn is transferring to her team and she reacts strongly against the decision, stating that he’ll only stay to finish the new case. What did you think was going on with her in that moment as she’d liked working with Penn when she was at West Mercia?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Kim was reacting to someone taking Dawson's place. She couldn't handle it, and she didn't think her team could either. I thought it was the only acknowledgement that Dawson was gone and she was hurting.

~Teresa It made Kim acknowledge that Kevin was gone and wasn’t coming back, ever. Knowing it but acknowledging it in her heart were two different things.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I agree with both of you. Kim couldn't handle the thought of a replacement for Kevin, no matter who it was.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Yes, agree with you all. It was Kim's way of acknowledging the depth of her loss.

I agree with you all, too. Woody really knows how to handle her. He shoved Austin in her face and she reacted predictably. He wasn’t going to let the situation fester and forced her to face Kev’s death.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I agree with you all. It wouldn't really have mattered who came to take Dawson's place.
