The worst books can inspire the most eloquent reviews. Sometimes a Cannonballer hates a popular book, KimMie" says The Da Vinci Code was a masterpiece compared to Lucy Foley's The Guest List; and sometimes taking a chance on a new author doesn't pay off, NatteringwPride was glad she borrowed rather than bought The Charmed Wife by Olga Grushin. You can check out all the one star reviews. (Cannonball Read 13)

Katie (faintingviolet) | 44 comments The Old Man and the Sea, On the Road, and Lord of the Flies are probably my most hated three. My partner will occasionally set me up to go on about Hemingway because it amuses him to hear how much I can't stand him or his writing.

Raven Black (blackraven6913) | 198 comments It used to be Dancing Cats of Applesap by Janet Taylor Lisle. It was the first book that I remember really disliking (but now I can't tell you why as that was back in fourth or fifth grade). And I can give you a one sentence reason for The Swiss Family Robinson: It is dated and the white savior father no longer flies.
