Let the Circle Be Unbroken (Logans, #5) by Mildred D. Taylor

"The fear, cruelty, and the bewildering injustice of a hopelessly racist society are transcended by a family's strength, self-respect, and determination. The characters, both young and old, in all their variety and individuality come alive with penetrating humanness, while the effect of the storytelling is intensified by a lean, understated style and made more poignant by touches of lyrical sensitivity."—The Horn Book

Diane White | 8 comments This series should be taught in every school to show the human side of segregation and how hard life was. It also shows the love and endurance in the family. Stacie changes the most in this book but still true to the character developed in the other books. Cassie also grows but stays true to her original characterization.

Diane I agree. The entire series is so well written and I'm so glad that I am getting the opportunity to read them all in order.
