How many pages/chapters should we read each day?
does five chapters a day work? or would you rather do more/less?
It works for me. I'm so excited to start.
I read the first five chapters. I'm liking it. I got a little bit of Six of Crows vibe in the beginning but I don't care. I love it. What about you?

yeah it's definitely similar to Six of Crows but in it's own way if that makes sense. The world-building from what I can understand of it seems really cool and I like the characters so far

I'm quite liking the characters. Enrique is actually flattered at being the bait. XD"The rest of her had been lifted from a child’s grave." This is regarding Laila but what if the other child's parents had recognized her? Had they asked for permission? These questions bother me so much.
yeah the characters are great. Especially Séverin he's like Kaz Brekker but friendlier/funnier and he can actually talk to girls lol

Yes!!! That's what I had issues with. Like what about the parents of the other child? That is messed up.
During the heist, I felt like there was a communication gap between them? Laila knew about the poison but tristan who was supposed to be in the garden didn't know and didn't have an antidote. What are your feelings about Hypnos? He doesn't seem to be so bad. I thought that he genuinely wanted to be a part of the team. But he threatened the team and Tristan doesn't like him so I'm confused about his motives.

personally i think Hypnos is great. He and Zofia are probably my favorite characters so far. All of his arrogance and charm is kind of an act that he puts. I don't fully know why yet, and i'm really intrigued to see where the author takes his character. I can see where Tristan is coming from too though. And i'm sad we don't get anything from Tristan's perspective.
I am having a hard time deciding my favorite. They are all equally amazing. Enrique and Zofia are so smart. Give them riddles and puzzles and they'll solve them so quickly. I absolutely love the small interaction between Hypnos and Zofia. I hope we get more soon. Severin's reaction to Laila's dance was so funny to me. He was struggling to form coherent thoughts.
And I guess Hypnos just wants to be friends with them. No one else is going to have such a reaction to being offered as bait.

yeah Severin's reaction was hilarious. And I like that it explained why he was always chewing on cloves cause I was starting to wonder. I can't tell who Enrique will end up with and it's hard cause I like his interactions with both Zofia and Hypnos. Or maybe all three will end up together. Another alternative is one of them dying but i don't think that's likely. But I do feel like one of the characters is going to die, in either this one or one of the other books.
O God. I hope they don't die.
Should we complete the book tomorrow? There is not much left.
Oh My God. Even when we saw it coming, it hit me right in the feels. Severin is pushing Laila away and isn't listening to her. Laila's version of Tristan sounds dangerous. He's plucking the wings of the birds encouraging them to not fly?? Is he a psychopath or what??

wow okay the last few chapters??? Tristan died and in knew he would but still. And yeah I don't know what his deal was. Was he like driven insane by the Phobus Helmet or was he like that before? I like that Hypnos is officially part of the group too. But I feel sorry for Zofia with that ending. I still can't tell where that love triangle is going to go.
And then with Severin and Laila. He was dumb for pushing her away but I can see why he did it. But now the whole mistress-contract-thing seems promising.
oh and I have The Silvered Sepents now. Do you want to start tomorrow? 5 chapters again or more?

Hypnos is adorable. I still don't know who would be better for Enrique. Severin' s hurting so bad and it's causing him to lash out. Him lashing out hurts Laila, who spends her nights with people who do not look like Severin at all. Inspite of everything I still think Severin is a good person and I hope he gets to rest soon. But I know it's a trilogy so it might take some time for him to rest.

yeah, but those first chapters were so sad to read. Especially Enrique's I just want to give him a hug. And then poor Hypnos keeps trying to be involved and hold everyone together. I felt so bad for him during that scene in the stargazing room when he tried to cheer everyone up but just made it more awkward and sad
I'm worried about a of them. They are fighting their own demons without any help from anyone else. Also I feel like Hypnos is hiding something? The guilty looks. I hope he won't betray them.
Finally Severin understood the name "Majnun"!!

i don't like Eva, she's trying to tear apart my beautiful ship :(also I now ship Enrique and Zofia because Hypnos is acting weird and I just like their interactions better
