For a long time, the whole book to be more exact, Aristotle gets into a big question, which is to know the truth about his brother. The parents hide the facts because of the shame and not knowing how to deal, which for a while left Ari infuriated.
Perhaps this issue, about hiding the truth, affected the boy subconsciously, but in such a strong way that he ended up reflecting on the truth of himself, of his sexuality, which is an issue discussed at the end of the story.
