ABANDONED. Sci fi space about a soldier with a bionic arm

Hello, I cannot find a book for the life of me that I read a good 7 years ago.
The book is about a person with a bionic arm he is a captain of a squad that fight aliens (although they appear human) with metal at the sides of there heads which allow them to control technology (the more metal the more control) he has one of these aliens in his squad, in one part of the book he is in a fortification on duty when his fort is attacked by wolf like creatures that stand up, he is The only survivor and these creature take him in with another girl, he learns he can communicate with them, later food starts to get short and these monsters without telling him kill the girl and use it to feed him and the rest of the pack.
