James (jamesgarside) Hi

I'm reading 100 books this year. Well, mostly listening to them as I love unabridged audiobooks:
https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/...

What should I read next?

Please recommend books you've read and love by established authors, NOT to read your novel. Especially if your novel's about a werewolf, in love with a vampire with emotional problems, that rides to work on a dragon.

I say that with love. I'm sure your novel's awesome for the right reader. But I'm 37, life's short and I still haven't read everything by Dostoyevsky yet.

Joking aside, I'd love to hear from you. I'm on Goodreads here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Thanks!

Mandy (mandypants) Hi, James! Welcome to the group!

I don't really listen to audiobooks. They take longer than reading a book and I have concentration issues. ;-)

However, during recovery from eye surgery, I did listen to an audiobook that I enjoyed. Storm Front is great fun! It's narrated by James Marsters and he did a fantastic job.

Good luck on reaching your 100!

Hi Mandy,

Thanks for the book recommendation — the idea of listening to Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer read a story amuses me greatly :)

You're right that reading a book is quicker.

Audiobooks are great for reading whilst you're doing other things (like exercise, household chores or traveling) — that way you can 'read' when you're not reading.

All the best,

Jim
