Help!!! (Wouldn’t let me post without a book name)

So my friend and I both read a book back in elementary school, and neither of us can remember what it was called. Can anyone help? It was a mystery book, probably written in the late 80s. The cover was red with „white“ lilies on the front. The plot goes something along the lines of an editor finds out that she’s the daughter of a love child between two famous actors named Robert and Victoria. However many years ago, Victoria was murdered and they never found out what happened. The main character travels to Virginia to a movie set and the site of the murder to both meet her grandfather and find out what happened to Victoria. I remember that she had a small brass bracelet with bells on it from her grandmother, and that someone is trying to kill her for some reason or another. But that’s it. Has anyone read this book???
