History/family: Cam is the middle of five children (3 boys and 2 girls). One older sister, and one older brother, and 2 younger brothers. Her older sister passed away due to an illness she'd carried since birth and this practically shattered Cam's faith in future relationships since she and her older sister were so close. Her sister passed when Cam was barely turning 8. Her brothers were hard to get along or relate with and after Mai (her older sister) died, she was the only daughter left in the family. She knew her brothers cared about her, she just didn't want to make any efforts at growing relationships with them or anyone else, for fear something similar, or worse, might happen. She kept herself distanced but not enough to make her family think there was something odd going on. That's when she started to discover her ability. She would use it to appear as if she were something she wasn't and when she was alone, would drown herself in the loneliness but tell herself it was for the best.

Personality: Cam is reserved even though she secretly wants to be friendly and loved by many. She keeps to herself because she doesn't want to harm herself or be a nuisance to others, but she can't help but wish that someone would try reaching out to her. Of course, people do, a lot, but she brushes them away by instinct. Few have managed to get close to her since her older sister's death, but she still tries to keep a distance or expectation that they might leave her at all times to muffle heartbreak when it comes.

Likes: Individual and secluded hobbies. She enjoys ice skating because of the peace it brings her, and she likes to sit on rooftops, though she isn't sure why. She also collects magnets, something she started with Mai when they were kids. She also likes to garden.
Dislikes: Anything with too much energy. If she were letting herself show her true character to others, these activities would be some of her favorites, but she feels they bring out too much of the parts she hates about herself: annoying, competitive, and maybe a bit cuckoo at times. So she stops herself from doing these things for more self-control over her emotions.

History/family: Hailee is the second of two children. Her mom and dad had many disagreements when she was young, but that just made the moments she caught them teasing each other something that Hailee always adored and wished she could have. Hailee's older sister, Tia, went on lots of dates and even got a boyfriend around 17 years old. Tia always was swarmed with friends and that made Hailee feel kind of lonely with only a few friends and no love life whatsoever. Her parents started to distance themselves when she turned 15 and their disagreements grew in number and importance until they got divorced a year later and that's when Hailee discovered her ability. She tried to use it to make her parents care about each other again, but she didn't know how to manage it very well and it caused all sorts of problems. When her parents finally realized what was going on, they hunted for schools that would help her manage the power and sent her here.

Personality: Hailee is such a romantic. She always dreamed of meeting someone who made her feel the way her sister's boyfriend made Tia feel. History/family: Emmet is an only child and apparently a "mistake". He can't remember a time since ever where both his parents were in the same room for less than ten minutes. Not even a time where they didn't fight whenever they saw each other. All his life he had been passed between the two for about a month each and when they found out how smart he was, things only got worse. They pressured him to do even better in school even though he was always at the top. And he tried his best to please them both until he caught them one at a time, talking to other parents or kids or even the single men mom would talk to or single women dad would talk to about how skilled their son was. They used his performance to get noticed. So he started trying harder, but this time, he was trying to fail. He still attended classes but made sure the teachers didn't know he was there. He liked learning, so he listened in on lectures, lessons, and activities at school without being noticed. And he found slight bursts of pride whenever he caught his parents with their friends and they couldn't think of how to brag about their son anymore.
Eventually, he was expelled for low attendance and bad performance. The high-performing school his parents made him attend couldn't accept such sickening numbers to be associated with themselves. Emmet was slightly disappointed because he liked the school. And he went home to his dad who'd gotten a call from the school. That was the first time he'd ever been hit. His mom had a similar reaction. Emmet started to feel guilty for not trying or performing as great as he knew he was capable of. It felt like he could see stacks of his grade reports all over the house and every time he looked at those low numbers and spotted the letter "F", he found himself getting angry and wishing the transcripts would disappear. Until one day, one did, and he did it again and again. Until he realized he could do it with anything. He tried to keep the power a secret from his parents, but one day, his mother saw him do it to one of his pens and he confessed his ability. At the time, Emmet hadn't been attending any school, his parents were still trying to find a place that they could register him in after his last performance. but when his mom found out about his power, she did some digging and uncovered "The Academy of Misfits". After a talk with both of his parents individually and a few more weeks of self-guilt that he didn't do everything he could for good grades at his last school, they signed him up at this academy and he promised he would try harder this time.

“I just need to try harder.”

Personality: Emmet loves hard work and effort. He loves to learn and discover new things, but he doesn't love to show his love. He can get a bit out of control with revenge or pranks if he allows himself to go down that path, but he's hoping this academy can be a fresh start where he can prove how much he can do once more. He's also looking forward to not going home until he's done with school. He will enjoy not being around his parents when he's doing so well in school. He hates it when they talk about him.

“I'm not going to just let you tell me everything I need to do.”

Likes: He admires ocean life, despite being so preoccupied with other things all the time. It helps him to take his mind off of other things and just relax for once. He doesn't give himself the opportunity to go to a beach or river most of the time, but when he does, it's one of the few things that he genuinely enjoys.
Dislikes: He mostly just hates being around people. He makes an effort to avoid human interaction as much as physically possible.
Fears: He will often suspect others of just trying to use his efficiency or hard work ethic to their advantage (i.e. doing their homework for them or something of the sort.) Not often is this actually the other person's intention, but his parents loved to use him to belittle their friends because "their child was the smartest ever" etcetera, etcetera. They would also pressure him to do better for the same reasons.
