Sean Henry | 2 comments I would have read the book in the last 10 years but I think it's a much older book, at least it's set in the 1920's, 30's (to the best of my knowledge - maybe a little later). Anyway, it's told by a guy who drives a car for people who need to get somewhere, have something delivered etc. Most of them are mysteries as he's given unusual requests. I remember one that involved taking someone to a wild party in an exclusive house but the next day/time he was there, the place was completely empty. Sorry not much else I can recall! Oh, I should have mentioned - I am sure the movie Baby Driver was in part influenced by it - I am sure I recall the Director mentioning it (which is what put me onto it) but I haven't been able to track it down with that as a reference point either.

Sean Henry | 2 comments And, after trying to find this story for years, I find it within a week of posting the request here.

It was "The Man who Drove the Car" by Max Pemberton - it is old (as it is available on Gutenberg). Highly recommended! I still can't believe I've tracked it down!
