The Secrets We Kept by Lara Prescott – 4 Stars (Rounded up)

I really like historical fiction that teaches me about a period or event that I know very little of, and this book does exactly that. This book was partly set in the US, and partly in Russia during the Cold War. I found the part set in the US more compelling, as at times the Russian part didn’t seem to flow as well, and it read a bit like a text book. I would have also liked some of the characters to be more fully developed.

I do appreciate learning new things, but this one was a slog for me.
