I actually finished it on Monday. No spoilers, but I enjoyed it and am continuing on in the series.I've read a fair amount of Simon R. Green over the years, but primarily his urban fantasy stuff -- the Night Side books and the Eddie Drood books, for the most part -- so this was a nice change of pace.

Oh, one thought I did have: Am I the only one who was getting serious Shrek vibes from the opening bit when Rupert was hunting the dragon and rescuing(?) the princess?
Heh. True. But technically Shrek came later ;)I love the humor in the book though right from those opening scenes.
Yep, it felt like it prefigured what happened in the movie.
