Cocktail party chatter. She attends a lot of those social functions where gossip is served with the drinks. After she made her splash, tips began to come into the blog.
She knows people who know people. D.C. is a gossip town. People would trust Lara since her father is a senator. They don't expect her to spread the dirt.
I agree with the others. She keeps her ears open and I also got the impression that she has informants. That said, she is also a good investigator as she always confirms the details before publishing. Now that I think of it, there is an incongruity between her professional abilities and her gullibility when it comes to Connor's machinations.
DC is a gossipy town and it was hard for me to believe her identity was unknown in this crowd. She had great access to leads because of her father’s relationships and Freddy was a great source.
It was just a matter of time before she would have been found out. Yes she would have gotten her information from attending functions with her father. I want to say she might even have gotten stuff from aides and those who worked for and under those she was investigating. A great effort was made to us know she had a hodgepodge of friends and was surrounded by those that would give her the info unknowingly . In the end I just can't believe that. As for her computer skills? I think that middle section I didn't read, did I miss anything that would have suggested she was a true computer genius?
