Connor creates a fake online profile for Niall Smith in order to connect with Lara Armstrong, the Capitol Scandals blogger. Niall sets up a situation where he can urge her to hire a bodyguard and recommends Connor. It works and Connor insinuates himself into her life. Your thoughts about how Connor handled the role? What things did he do well? Things he should have done differently?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Connor's "mission" was to infiltrate Capitol Scandals and get it shut down. After he gets to know Lara, he has regrets about how well he manipulated her. He created her dream man, someone Connor had to compete against for her trust and affections. His ruse worked perfectly and got him where he wanted to be, until he started to care for her. I wasn't happy with the way that he choose to disillusion Lara with Niall.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I'm with you Anita. Connor's "mission" is executed nicely. He is where he wants to be to get Capitol Scandals shut down. He has misgivings about his lies, but he doesn't give up the deception easily.

I didn't like that about Connor and I really liked him in the previous book. I expected more.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments To be perfectly honest, this only worked because Lara has got to be one of the most gullible women on the planet!

Connor is very manipulative and deceptive, but this is to be expected because he is a CIA agent. It was obvious to me that his lies were going to come back to haunt him once Lara learned the truth.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 9278 comments Mod
Connor’s behavior is consistent with his CIA training so I expected him to be manipulative, which is what he always planned. What I didn’t expect was that Lara would be quite so easily manipulated, mostly by the Niall persona. In person, Connor would be hard to resist because he’s supposed to be very good.

Lauren that was one of the things I struggled with the most. Amanda was just too gullible. TSTL was my thought every other second with her.

I think everything you and Jonetta are saying about Connor was my thoughts as well. He was CIA so use so we expect some manipulation etc. But of course this is mystery romance. Him falling for Amanda was a surprise and all the plans of how to handle her went out the window.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I also think because Connor was CIA, he acted the way I expected. Yes, I agree. Lara was pretty stupid in this book. Since she was writing a blog to expose secrets, I thought she would be a bit sharper.
