Oranges in no man’s land

The book ‘Oranges In no man’s land’ written by Elizabeth Laird is set during a civil war, focusing on our main character Ayesha, who is 10. When I was in primary school, my year 5 teacher read this book to me and my classmates. I remember always wanting my teacher to continue reading the story to us, even if it was home time. I also remember the story being different to books I usually read e.g. fairytales. This story is great to introduce to classes in KS2 as it touches on what some children around the world, are going through.
