When a dangerous gene was discovered among the people of Keveah, the Organization of Worlds gave the residents choices. They could be altered or face annihilation. Her parents chose to leave this life together, after finding ways to smuggle her off the world to live and run.
So run she did, hiding her ancestry and always traveling. Going from spaceships to satellites to colonized worlds, finding work in the backside of businesses or where there was no public contact. But after years of feeling safe, she discovered she had someone watching her, someone who knew her true history.
She had no choice but to run.
