Hello Bentley here - Bentley will be checking in from the Metro NYC area, or somewhere in New England - all Eastern Standard Time in the United States of America.

I will be more specific when I know exactly where I will be on August 27th, 2016 but the readathon will go on.

Great Teri - wow Paulo - how exciting - use Tanzania's date and time - when it is August 27th there at 8AM you can start and check in to checkpoint one. And by August 28th at 8AM you must also check out. There are six checkins for each 4 hour period and a mandatory check out which is Checkpoint Seven.

And great Jill that will be great - I can hardly breathe here. Hot, hot, hot. What is causing these awful extremes. We should be starting to wind down summer not ratchet it up.

Hi Bentley. I am in Cincinnati, Ohio eastern daylight time. I am looking forward to participating in the readathon in an abbreviated form. I am an Orthodox Jew and Saturday is my sabbath but I intend to read during the afternoon of the 27th and log my hours when the sabbath ends. I already have a book picked out :)

Will be reading from Southern California, In the great Long Beach area! That is Pacific Daylight time. We are currently having a bit of a cooling trend, so I might do some reading outside on the patio table! Of course, right after this nice, cooler weather, a heat wave has been forecasted!
