So we know how Mateo dies, which is so sad. But what’s sadder, when Mateo dies or when the book ends and Rufus is just going to let himself die and not care what happens to himself?

I think that the fact the Rufus dies at the end hurt more because he basically died because he was grieving for Mateo.
I was fuming by the end of the book because of how they died, like, bro, HOW DO YOU GET YOU'RE OVEN TO BLOW UP BRO. WHY?
I did really love the book, except I don't get the end... Is Rufus dead now, or did he just not care anymore? Am I the only confused person here?
