It is! You can't read (at least I can't) so many books in a month- it's stressful.

for team challenge, one can gain bonus points for reading extra books, right? So is the point the same as the points which are gained by reading as a team?

Yes bonus points can be gained.
The point system for the individual books is followed in this case as well. This is explained in the rules, please see that. :)
