Our story continues with The Phone Booth at the Edge of the World. Hana had received a new black cat for her birthday, although Takeshi wasn't sure about having a cat and the uncertainty of the cat's life span and having to deal with death once more.
Takeshi is getting ready to see his daughter Hana go to school for the first time. Yui has become close to Takeshi and Hana and helping them prepare for Hana's big day. Takeshi was nervous for Hana, as he did not want Hana to lose her ability to speak again. He also was sensitive to his mother's feelings and keeping her involved in Hana's life.
Takeshi and Yui had news that their Bell Gardia host, Suzuki-san was ill and everyone had to make special appointments to be met with a volunteer at the wind phone. There was also disturbing news that another typhoon was coming to Kujira-yama where Bell Gardia was. And Yui was there.
Another typhoon, what would become of Bell Gardia? Who would survive? Yui?
