Jude Perera | 5 comments I’m a Sri Lankan born Australian author.

My first book “The Beast” is a YA adventure, mystery, thriller, set amidst the mists of Horton Plains in Sri Lanka. A bunch of friends, from numerous cultural and socio-economic backgrounds come together for a grand adventure in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It is also a tribute to one of my favourite childhood authors: Enid Blyton, although this is for slightly older kids. The Beast is available at some M.D Gunasena stores around Colombo.

This is a blurb from my second novel – “A Glow in the Forest”.

Join a band of teenagers and a child in an ancient world, as they escape abuse and persecution at the hands of two sadists, and savour the delicious scent of freedom when they disappear in to the bowels of an endless forest.

They all laughed. But then an eerie, deep, and mournful screech stopped their antics. It started low and rose to a blood curdling scream, which shattered the natural order about them.

Let your hearts tremble as beasts, witches, soldiers, and their former tormentors set off on their trail. Two Orphans: a girl and her young brother, keep their nobility a secret from the rest of them. Witness a rabid mob scream and hurl abuse at an innocent woman.

Witch! Witch!
They scream as they beg the authorities to burn them in the name of religion. Feel relieved as the true notion of faith and charity inflame young hearts to action.

“No! it isn’t, it isn’t, I miss home, I miss father, Feya, I need my mother, Aurelia, will I... will I be able to see her again if I should die?”

Mourn in solidarity with innocence, as a small child yearns to be re-united with his dead parents, wishing for miracles; and a sister who shields him defying the confinements of her age. Curse those who strive to abuse him in every way possible.

Read more chapters from my books at Book2Look.

Thank you for reading this intro. An honest review, at your discretion on any one of my books or both, will be a bonus.
