Good clarifying question:Paula: Just to clarify: does the author I use to search literature-map have to be a new to me author first read after June 1, 2020, or is it just that I have to have read a book by that author during the time period between then and now? Can the book by the search author be a reread?
Answer: It's the latter. You need to have read a book by the author sometime in the past year-ish, but it's okay if you've also read the author/book before that too.
Good idea!Dee wrote: "putting my info here so i don't lose it...lol!

https://www.literature-map.com/lisa+k...Samantha Young floating by the bottom right. Hope things don't move around like MPG!
I see her down there! There's an author even further away, so I think you're pretty safe. :) Deborah wrote: "https://www.literature-map.com/lisa+k...

Documenting my choice:https://www.literature-map.com/nora+r...
Read The Awakening on 2/23/21 and gave it 5*.
I will read a book by Catherine Coulter. I have 2 on my TBR that were previously planned for past challenges. She would be a new-to-me author.
Yup, and right next to Jennifer Crusie, so I bet you'll end up liking her book. Lauren wrote: "Also putting the link here and confirming that Susan Andersen is on it

Great, thanks!

Maps are pretty stable, especially for author names that aren't on the edge."
We've used this lit map in several tasks over the years, and I don't recall ever seeing a name "fall off." Not to say that it theoretically couldn't happen, but I've never seen it.

New to you Author would be Lynda La Plante Book Above Suspicion.
Although i have also took note of Herman Portocarero.
I'm posting this link to Louise Penny on the map and Dervla McTiernan as a author I haven't read so if the circumstances change, I'm covered https://www.literature-map.com/louise...Thanks,
Andy She is one of the few I haven't read so this may make a difference
I see Dervla McTiernan over there on the left side. :) Andy wrote: "I'm posting this link to Louise Penny on the map and Dervla McTiernan as a author I haven't read so if the circumstances change, I'm covered https://www.literature-map.com/louise...

Thanks for the conformation. I am slowly learning to confirm all things that might not still be there in a month or so.
Andy
I am looking at reading Second Sight Amanda Quick the book also lists Jayne Anne Krentz as author but i believe they are the same person (and both are on the lit map) as I have read neither and they relate to JD robb would that be OK for this task
Suddenly the message boards say that links to other sites are not allowed. Is there some way other than < a href="site.com">text< /a> to include the required link for this task?
I just tried it and had no trouble posting a link to the lit map site. Just the normal way - copied the site address and pasted it into a message on GR.

For this task, you will explore the amazing Literature-Map site to have an adventure with a NEW-TO-YOU author.
Go to the Literature-Map site and search for an author you have read and enjoyed any time since June 1, 2020.
Choose any NEW-TO-YOU author that appears on the lit-map for the author you searched and read a book by them.
REQUIRED: Include a link to the lit-map (copy the url), the date you read the starting author, and state that the resulting author is NEW TO YOU when you post.
