I absolutely loved it! And even though I'm writing this a couple years later... I cannot wait to finish the book series. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure when that will happen because I've thrown this series in the "wait till its all published" pile. So it's currently collecting dust with it friends; The Lies of Locke Lamora, and The Name of the Wind.
I also have to say, I was very nervous about reading A Game of Thrones, because I had a friend in college who attempted to read it and would have to backtrack hundreds of pages since she would have no clue who characters were and what was going on. However, I didn't find the reading to be that difficult.. maybe it is because I went in knowing I have to pay attention and read slow, also to prepare I printed out a 10 page character list. Did anyone else have similar experience of difficultly or ease with this book?
Lastly, I have only seen a few episodes of the tv series because I am a firm believer of reading the book before seeing an adaption. I do get tempted every so often to ditch that rule. Maybe the new series will convince me!
Please feel welcome to share your thoughts on both the book and the tv series below!
This one is certainly on my TBR list. I bought the entire book series at once because I had been wanting to read it for a while. Don't know when I'll get to it but I hope so within the next month or so. I think I'll end up reading the books first, at least book 1, before I see the show because I don't want my bias or judgment to cloud in the way of either.
