Recently I read Lev Grossman's trilogy "The Magicians", and I liked this book so much that I would like to find similar ones in genre or plot. Can anyone advise on fantasy in a genre similar to "The Magicians"?

This is not a librarians issue. You could try joining one of the many fantasy groups on Goodreads. Also, I believe the "What is the name of this book" group is willing to field such questions.
you can also look at the genres people have shelved it as and click on that link; or in the upper right corner there is a readers also enjoyed for the book
