October: Elementary Team Challenge

Our member Niharika had the idea for this challenge. :-)

This Team Challenge is meant to be an epic battle of Elemental Magic - but without anyone getting hurt, or even dirty, or having to leave the house... and with read books replacing mana or such like.
There will be four teams (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) playing against each other, ideally, reading books to build defense and attack spells.

As the rules in this case as well as the number of possible groups depends a lot on how many people join in the first place, they'll be left a bit vague until October 1st when it comes to how many books are necessary for defense and attack spells.

Rules

1. As a team, try and finish as many books as you possibly can and post each one with its title in this thread, stating which team they are for, in cursive. You'll need them.
2. Your first task will be to appoint a warlock in your team who will decide what spells to use your read books for: an attack or a defense. Post their name in this thread underlined.
3. Warlocks, cast wisely: A defense spell will cost 3 books and last for 2 of their own attacks before needing to be recast - while it lasts, your team and warlock are safe. An attack spell costs 2 books and costs the attacked team 1 books from their book stack. A summoning spell costs 6 books and will summon an Elemental which will drag an opposing team's warlock into a portal and thus incapacitate the team immeadiately. Post your spells and where they are directed to in this thread in bold.
4. If a team is attacked 3 times successfully or looses its warlock, it will be counted as defeated.
5. Last team standing wins!

Yeah this is such a cool idea too so I'm surprised more people haven't joined. The only reason I came so late is because I wanted to make sure I'm ahead in classes before I dedicate myself to another challenge lol

I flipped a coin. We'll have four teams to start with, everybody gets to be a warlock, and I used a randomizer for sorting us to the elements. (Check above.)

Also, I changed the numbers of books for spells.

I had a question. When you say the defence spell will last for two of your own attacks, what exactly do you mean? That it will last for two attacks on you, or two attacks you cast yourself…

And can you cast summoning spells on a team with their defences up?

The defense spell lasts for two attacks you cast. So say you attacked me twice now, you'd have to cast a new defense spell or you'd be without defenses.
While the defense spell is up, the warlock is safe, too - even from a portal spell.

Meaning Team Water (i.e. me) is the only one you could currently attack successfully with any kind of spell.

You could have me dragged into a portal and still have your defense up, looking at your book counter with the new two added, as things stand... o.o
