Day 8, Series Everyone Should Read (in my honest opinion): The Neopolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante

message 54: by Gabrielle (new)

Gabrielle Maes (morgynalex) | 129 comments "Against the backdrop of a Naples that is as seductive as it is perilous and a world undergoing epochal change, Elena Ferrante tells the story of a sixty-year friendship between the brilliant and bookish Elena and the fiery, rebellious Lila with unmatched honesty and brilliance."

Dang, I want to read this now 😂

Cristina | 27 comments Day 7: I've only recently begun listening to audiobooks so unfortunately, I don't have many options to choose from. I did enjoy the audiobook for Stephen King's A Good Marriage and Liane Moriarty's Big Little Lies.

Day 8: I also can't say I've ever read a series I adored besides Harry Potter, but I understand it's not for everyone, nor is Rowling the adored author she once was.

Day 9, Favorite Book to Give as a Gift: hmm, I've gifted several books but I don't think there is one in particular that is like above and beyond any others, but whatev, for the heck of it, I gave The Landmark Caesar to my sister just so she didn't have to keep renewing it at the library.

Gabrielle Maes (morgynalex) | 129 comments Day 9:Favorite book to give as a gift?
I would have to choose Alice's Adventure in Wonderland. I'm in love with that book.

message 59: by Cristina (new)

Cristina | 27 comments Day 9: I don't have a favorite book to give as a gift since I select books depending on who they are for. However, if I had to list a specific instance... I would probably say when I surprised my partner with Jocko Willink's "Leadership Strategy and Tactics" right when it came out. They adore Willink's message and teachings, and credit him with helping kick them into gear, so it was a much appreciated gift.

Cristina | 27 comments Day 10: A book that made me cry happy tears was Anxious People by Fredrik Backman. It was so heartbreaking and bittersweet, yet it helped me realize a lot about humanity and this crazy life we share.

Day 11: A character I’d want to have dinner or drinks with... that’s a tough one! I’m torn between Evelyn Hugo and Scarlett Clark from They Never Learn. But I’m sure if I gave it even deeper thought, I’d find more characters I’d love to join our dinner party.

I know what you mean. Lol. I only listen to the romance books because I like how they portray the characters. Also listening to people say those things I it find hilarious.

message 96: by Cristina (new)

Cristina | 27 comments Day 19: This is another tough one because I haven't listened to enough audiobooks to have a true favorite. But, if I had to pick, I'd say Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, read by Cassandra Campbell.
