Rounded up from 4 1/2 stars to 5 stars because Samra Habib went the extra mile by making suggestions and taking action to make positive changes with respect to issues negatively impacting her and many others in lbgtq+ communities around the world.Great writing from a smart and creative lady. While large part memoir, I think that categorization alone does it a disservice. It is really a memoir-essay collection combination.
I read it twice. First before it was announced that was 1 of 5 books short-listed for 2020 Canada Reads and then again as a refresher. Enjoyed it and learned a lot both times. It went on to become the 2020 Canada Reads Winner. Highly recommended.
