I was quite happy with the series he already has going. Now I have ANOTHER one to buy/borrow/steal. I agree with the review that said a LOT of characters! At least book two comes with a list and description of them. But what Weber does very well is landscape descriptions...I wish he would make a map of the world (either Sharona or Arcana) so we could see more of where he is describing.
I assumed the landscape was Earth, endlessly repeated. One of the things I found slightly irritating was the very detailed geographic descriptions, presumably so that you could work out where they were talking about. I just wanted them to say "India" or whatever.
