How do bookstagrams work?
Like I do know basic stuff but like you post a book's photo when you have read it? And how do you interact with other bookstagrams?

i think everyone uses bookstagrams differently, most people post a little of everything its truly up to you. you can post reviews(thats almost everyone), you can post about book mail you've received, you can post about your monthly wrapups, you can post about anything tbh anything bookish or even non-bookish from time to time.

but if you're lost, i suggest you can get started with some wrapups or some reviews! thats how i started. or you can get started by posting your favourite series & talking about how much you like them, or what you like about them! you can also do an introductory post with facts about yourself, i see that a lot of bookstagrams do this! they post a photo of themself (bookish/non-bookish both are fine ofc) and they introduce themselves!

& when youve made friends on bookstagram you will be tagged in a bunch of fun challenges to do so you can do the tags you want, they are mostly bookstack challenges like showcasing your blue books or yellow books etc

although i would suggest you to create a new account and people will naturally find you bc instagram will suggest your account to other bookstagrammers on insta so they will definitely find your account themselves. you will see a lot of bookstagrams that have only 2-3 posts but have 30-50++ comments on their first post welcoming you to bookstagram

everyone on booksta is super friendly & super super genuinely nice so its super fun. i made friends gradually i honestly dont rmb what i did, i think you can make a lot of friends by constantly sharing their posts on your story & commenting & interacting on their posts!

and if they post a story or anything that youre particularly passionate about, you can DM them about it & like go crazy about it tgt in the DMs!! like maybe they love a series you also love or theyre reading a series u love so u can DM them about it and discuss ur love tgt and now youve made friends!

& when you do the tags, you can tag those accounts that you frequently interact with and normally they will return those interactions too!

just have fun, let loose and youre free to go!

Thank you so much Shay! It was really helpful, and I have been planning to do that. I have taken 3 photos of books and post them. One is of Harry Potter, my favourite series of all time, and then there is my recent read Eliza and her monsters, and the next the one I started today.
