I just saw one of my favorite books as a child. The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster

In school we had DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read). I remember being so engrossed that I always asked the teacher if I could at least finish the chapter when it was time to move on. She always said yes.

Wow, you totally just unlocked a memory there. I vaguely recall something like that when I went to school. It was honestly my favorite time of the day because I could read uninterrupted.

I liked it because I had freedom to choose what I read and it wasn't assigned.
