Max Headroom originated on British television in 1985 and then became a short-lived television series in the U.S. in 1987. In November, 1987, a signal hijacking took place in Chicago, in which a person wearing a Max Headroom mask interrupted a sports show, then 2 hours later on a different station, interrupted a Doctor Who showing.
