Stitches came about from my experience as a grief and bereavement counselor. Believe it or not, many of these widows had no idea of their financial status and had not been interested, allowing their husbands total control. I learned a lot from these women! The next book, Canvas, centers on the foster system. Renee, Jen's best friend, somehow ends up with a very angry 15-year-old man-child and has to deal with "the system." That story came from my work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Voices for Children, featured in the book. Should be out May/June 2021. The one after that, Canvas, centers on Jade, iris's companion, and centers on domestic violence and Iris's mysterious past.
