I'll nominate After Elizabeth: The Rise of James of Scotland and the Struggle for the Throne of England.
I would love for people to consider one of the books from my Seymour Saga trilogy! Jane the Quene is the first in the series, and The Path to Somerset comes second (and has just been named a finalist for the Chaucer Prize). They are absolutely standalones... Jane the QueneThe Path to Somerset

Hello Annarose,I will admit that
by Karen Lindsey looks interesting, but I think I can predict the book's conclusion from the title. Henry VIII is found to be a leader in the feminist movement. Don't tell me if I'm right, I'd hate to have the ending spoiled.
Alright, I will nominate A Dead Man in Deptford and The Confident Hope of a Miracle: The True Story of the Spanish Armada. And with that I close nominations.
The poll is now open (and I had to make it twice, for whatever reason). You'll find it at the top of the group's Polls page, the bottom of its Home page, or here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2... .
If voting closed now (it's still open - for a bit), the winner would be (color me totally not shocked) Katharine Parr, the Sixth Wife.

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.
Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.
Two nominations to a person, please.
