I had a few books that I was both grossed out and mesmerized with. But it might have been RASL by Jeff Smith that was one of the more recent ones that still is sticking with me. Speak also was pretty rough (but not for the reasons you might think actually). And I read two Dia Reeves that made me a little "wonky" reading.
