Sorry I suggested a book that´s not easily or cheaply available. I got it used from Amazon (obviously from an Ohio library).I liked the intertwined stories of a Comanche woman telling her grandson about the near extinction of the buffalo and the conservationists saving a small herd and bringing it back to the grasslands of Oklahoma, all set at the beginning of the 20th century.
The drawings are beautiful, but I think the saving of this little herd doesn´t compensate the killing of most of these animals by the white settlers.
