ABANDONED. YA/Middle Grade Adventure. Roughly 2010. About a group of kids all staying at the same hotel who have to solve a puzzle.

I remember it was about 4 or 5 kids whose parents were all staying at the same hotel in some European country. The kids are trying to solve some puzzle or mystery and I think get abilities in the course of the book? I also remember a scene where they break into a guy's house and it's booby trapped with weight sensitive pressure plates. While all of this is going on there is occasionally a short chapter focusing on this council of adults who were discussing the apocalypse and how these kids were connected?

I would have read it sometime around 2010 and I've been looking for it for years! So any help is appreciated!
