I've read all of the books currently showing on the group bookshelf.

What else do you have for me?

Neil Port (neilport) Hi Tom,
Best wishes on your new group!
My Epic Fantasy book series "The Paladin Chronicles" are a bit intellectual so not exactly what you are asking for but they have lots of action and are great fun. I 100 % guarantee you will love them if you like Epic or Historical Fantasy.
They are finalists in a book comp so you can have them for FREE (in the hope you will vote for me). Here's the Link http://voteformybooks.blogspot.com.au

Hi Neil,

Thanks for the recommendation. Are your books as action-packed as Jim Butcher's Codex Alera? The books on the bookshelf in this group are pretty much the standard I'm judging against.

I don't want to give you a negative rating and review on your books if I'm disappointed in my expectations, so I'd like to make sure my expectations are set clearly.

Thanks,
Tom

Neil Port (neilport) Tom I greatly appreciate that.I really only try to encourage people to read my books if I think they will enjoy them

I find it hard to compare it with other books I have read. It is most definitely in the same Genre as Lord of the Rings only lighter. I aim for realism, fun, good character development and good fight scenes. do I achieve this?
I'm too close to be my own judge.
Book 1 has little magic in it and strongly resembles alternate history, swords and horsemen. The magic grows as the series progresses.
They are most definitely intellectual though!
Not as bad as Tolkien and most have said that it doesn't get in the way of a good yarn.
Does that interest you?
you might be better seeing what others say about my books or having a preview from Amazon or Smashwords.
The voting is the electronic version of ticking a single box and is completely optional.
If you read and enjoy my books that would be more than enough

Thanks Natasha. I'll check out Robopocalypse right now.

I've read The Black Prism, and I'll add it to the shelf right now. I remember it being hilarious. Maybe a re-read is in order, especially now that the third book is out.

Tanya Renolds | 5 comments My first thought is to comics, and I am not ashamed to say that if it was not for comics, I don't think I would have ever gotten into reading, with that being said, I would recommend Hitman, Vol. 4: Ace of Killers Hitman, Vol. 4 Ace of Killers by Garth Ennis even The Punisher, Vol. 1: Welcome Back, Frank The Punisher, Vol. 1 Welcome Back, Frank by Garth Ennis both by Garth Ennis. If you like comics these are the ones, guns blazin' people dying and even some crazy demons. I can get back to you on books.

I do like comics, although I don't read them as much as I used to. Thanks for the recommendations, and I can't wait to see what books you recommend.

Tanya Renolds | 5 comments I think I love 'em so much is because they are a quick read, but the down side is you do want to have more. I like quick and entertaining, which is why I go for the novellas and fast paced reads. Being that you are like me, it is hard to be recommended or recommend to. The only books I can think of for this group and are not comics, The Da Vinci Code but you probably already read it. I could not stop reading it It's kinda hard to think of books with lots of action, but I'll be back.

I love fast-paced books, and I love sci-fi and fantasy, so mixing those two things with action is just the best.

And I did read The Da Vinci Code, and Angels and Demons. Great pacing.

I read those and they are kick ass, Garth Ennis is the man but I will stick with the comics until someone gives me something good and free, kinda broke at the moment. Hell the Green Lantern comics I'm reading are a friends, but I gotta read something.
