Seemed relatively new, but not sure

Pretty sure I just read the book preview that was put in the back of another book? Think it was a different author, but probably the same publisher. I can’t remember anything about the actual book, but it was probably SciFi or UF type given what I remember of the preview.

There’s a crew of about 6 or so.
The ‘world’ is set up so the crew have ‘x’ many regen/clones available for any accidents etc.
Think they were on or near their final regen/clone
They all start waking and come out of the beds to find a slaughter house of their previous bodies (or at least blood and gore everywhere if their bodies weren’t present)
Think the system is set to take brain downloads regularly, so if they need to take a new clone, their memories are still intact
In this case, it seems they hadn’t downloaded recently, so they had no clue as to what had happened to them, or who did it. Given the ships in space, it has to be one of them.
