I’m just going to say, this book honestly made me feel so excited. This book was a puzzle and I was craving the next scene!! So excited to discuss!!
I read this book quite some time ago and it was so good!! I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait for the next one :)
Hi, I'm Louie, the discussion leader. My first question is what drew you to The Inheritance Games? The mystery aspect, the author, or even just the spectacular cover?
OOo, I liked the spectacular cover, but also the synopsis was really. The mystery aspects were really fun to follow.
I really liked this book, it was not filled with the stereotypical characters there tend to be in YA books and was very intriguing.
I was drawn to the book by the title. Thought it sounded like they were trying to cash in on Hunger Games popularity but still be different enough to cause interest. It worked for me.
This is one of my fave new series! I’m so excited for book two. It was a really easy and quick read. Perfect for getting you out of a book slump.
i finished this book a few weeks ago. i really enjoyed it and the characters were interesting. i was expecting a bit more of the ‘mystery’ plot though. the ending was good but maybe there’s more to come in the sequel. :)
i LOVED this book so much. i could not get enough of it and i finished it so quickly. the storylines and riddles were all so intriguing. plus i really liked avery, the main protagonist. i cannot wait for the sequel.

Louie wrote: "Hi, I'm Louie, the discussion leader. My first question is what drew you to The Inheritance Games? The mystery aspect, the author, or even just the spectacular cover?"What I loved about this book was the mystery and the fact that there was no straight forward romance. This whole book kept you guessing and even when you thought you figured out the clues and solved it, you didn't! :')
Louie wrote: "Hi, I'm Louie, the discussion leader. My first question is what drew you to The Inheritance Games? The mystery aspect, the author, or even just the spectacular cover?"I think the thing that drew me to this book was that people said it was a lot like Knives Out. I love love love Knives Out. I was not disappointed when I read this book.

Oooh, yes Knives Out was so mysterious and well paced. I thought Ana De Armas did such a good job in her role. I'm curious if Inheritance Games will stike the same feeling for me, I plan to start it tomorrow.
Now that it's been a few days, the time has come to decide which character is your favorite. Is it Avery, Grayson, Xander, or is it somone completely different?
Here's a link to a recent interview with Jennifer Lynne Barnes regarding The Inheritance Games, for anyone interested.https://www.thenovl.com/blog/2021/4/6...
I think my favourite character may be Xander or Nash because I love Xanders humour and how he feels like the perfect little brother but by the end also seems a lot deeper and more serious. It's like his happy outgoing persona is a bit of an act. I just love Nash because cowboys are great and I enjoy how he is always trying to do the best for everyone and help them, even though he clearly isn't always achieving that.
Ohhhh I got drawn in by the title and the mystery.. very curious about Knives Out now! I haven't heard of it :)
All the brothers were interesting to read about, and Avery was great in the middle of all that! I would definitely read more books about them!
Just finished this book yesterday! It’s such a good story and I love the questions you keep having throughout the book! I can’t wait to buy the second book and discover more of their stories!
I'm on chapter 10. The title drew me to this book. So far I've just met everyone and had the reading of the will. It is very intriguing. My only complaint is that the chapters are seriously short. I can't wait to continue reading.
The Inheritance Games is pitched as a fast paced, twisty mystery novel filled with riddles and puzzles. Did you think that it lived up to the claim or not and what would you change about it if you could? If your answer contains spoilers, please mark as such.

I've finished the book. And I am so sorry but I didn't really enjoy it. The story was clever and mysterious, the characters were unique and interesting. I guess I grew up with reading Nancy Drew and Secret Seven, so maybe I'm all mysteried out or something. I really wanted to like this book as much as you guys did.My favourite character was Xander.
And yes some of the puzzles were very clever.
I was reading 3 other books, all excellent, when I started this one, and once I started it, it was the only book I wanted to read. I read it in a day, and I know my daughter, who is in the middle of a big trial, will adore it as a decompression treat. I am happy to have the sequel on the horizon. Waiting for the third one will be hard. I really enjoyed Avery, and look forward to the development of the characters & the mysteries.

Louie wrote: "Now that it's been a few days, the time has come to decide which character is your favorite. Is it Avery, Grayson, Xander, or is it somone completely different?"Easily Grayson. I absolutely adored him, and am praying that's who she ends up with. Not sure why precisely, but to me, he just provided a lot more tension with Avery then Jameson did.
