About a girl who moves to a new place and goes to this high school. There is this dude and I think his name starts with an ‘E’, who is a mystery to her. He is a loner and became one by having a panic episode right before a shooting in a factory near by. He basically started screaming and crying in the middle of class and thought he was in the shooting but the shooting wasn’t taking place at the time. So basically he has episodes where he can predict the future. This happened before the girl came and was mentioned in past tense. I think the girl likes to draw and one night she goes to this abandoned water park and sees the boy swimming. She watches him and suddenly he goes underwater and holds his breath for a long time. She freaks out and thinks he drowned but really he was testing how long he can hold his breath. They don’t become automatic friends. Boys backstory: he’s an orphan and lives with a man and his wife, older son that goes to the same high school as him, and a younger boy around the age of ten. Everyone treats him harshly except the young boy. He loves him. The boy was abandoned as a child and was found by a fireman and the only thing he has from the past is a note that was left with him from his biological mother. This note was later destroyed by the other older foster brother. As his and the girls relationship grows they eventually plan to go to prom together but the boys brother and him get into a fight and there is a fire involved but I’m not really sure. The boy ends up getting arrested and tells girl he will find her. Girl is heartbroken. The book skips a few years to when there in their mid twenties and the girl is a waitress at a cafe. Her boss is her fiancé but he’s a abusive dude. She married him because she had no where to go. One day she’s serving and she notices the boy. They are reunited. But he’s on the run from cops. He tells her they’ve got to go and he wants her to go with him. She refuses at first but eventually relents. They go to her house with her fiancé but the fiancé is home. The boy(I think his name was Evan or something like that) is outside. She goes in and gets beat up by the fiancé. The boys walks in gets angry and accidentally kills her fiancé. Girl is shocked and both are running from the cops now. They end up going to a motel talking and they still love each other. I don’t remember much after that. I do remember that the boy holds his breath underwater a lot and whenever asked about it, he says he’s preparing and practicing. I do remember towards the end the cops finally corner them near a River. He tells girl to trust him and and then takes her and fakes that he’s about to kill her to the police. The police then see girl as victim so now she isn’t in trouble. He backs away and jumps in the river. He holds his breath for more than ten minutes. The police think he’s dead and girl thinks he’s also dead but not for long. She goes to the place he told her to just before he jumped and finds a house. She stays there and waits for him. Finally he arrives a few weeks later. They live nice after and he becomes a firefighter. Epilogue: the girl gets pregnant and the boy already predicted the gender but doesn’t tell her. A few months later and it’s a boy. It’s an HEA story. Please let me know the title and name of the author. Either one is fine. Thank you.
