I woke up this morning with this book on my mind. I bought a used copy a few months ago; now I need to find it!

I am starting this week…my library hold came due! 😊

I finished...in time for it to be May also!! Here are my thoughts:
(view spoiler)[ I enjoyed this however I felt this book could have been about 100 pages or more shorter ;) This was a good ending to the trilogy and I enjoyed the battle scenes and the fact that Tessa's history was revealed (who her mother was and how Mortmain manipulated Tessa's conception).

I love Magnus and every appearance of his in this book (I can't believe that we got to see the invention of portals ;) We find out how Magnus ended up in NY with Church the Cat!

Tessa and the angst about who she was going to end up with I could have done without! Maybe I wasn't in the mood for such hand wringing or maybe I am just not into YA that much at the moment but she just couldn't make up her mind, IMHOP!

However, the reveal that Jem became a Silent Brother threw me for a loop...I have to admit that in City of Heavenly Fire, I mis-guessed who the Silent Brother was (I won't say what happens for those of you who haven't read it...let's just say that I thought the Silent Brother was a different person ;) That storyline was very touching and the fact that Tessa and Jem met once a year on the bridge was very impactful!

So we get to see the origins of the Herondale and Lightwood families that appear in the Mortal Instruments! I like the history of these books and how they connect! Will reminds me of Jace in the Mortal Instruments...and I have to say that Tessa is just as angsty as Clary in the Mortal Instruments!

The reveal of the Angel Ithuriel in the necklace was a good story point!! Poor Ithuriel is all I have to say....;)

It was angsty and I agree that I liked seeing the history and I think we may have thought the silent brother was the same person. She definitely made sure that we would think it was a certain person based on how she described their appearance in City of Heavenly fire. (hide spoiler)]
