SOLVED. A boy grew up with his father because his mother died when he was very young, drowned when they went swimming in a lake. The story it self is in UK (I think). Read the book maybe 8-17 years ago. Maybe a bestsellers at that point. [s]

I am searching for a book that I lost several years ago but can`t remember the title. I think I bought this novel between 2004 and 2013

I think the author was a female, and the book was one of the bestsellers in the UK at that time. The author wrote in a special way, using a lot of “and” in the text.

The book was a bout a boy that lost his mother when he was young. She drowned herself in a lake while they were taking a bath. The boy grew up with his father and I think maybe he blamed his mother for drowning herself.

I cannot remember much more, just that I really liked that book. Hopefully someone might know what book I am trying to find 😊
