I think it depends on the school. I'm in 10th and I'm in Honors Math Analysis/Trig/Pre-Calc. I can take either AP Stats or AP Calc next year

If you're taking algebra I right now and you're in 7th it'll go like this:
8th - Geometry
9th - Algebra II
10th - Trig

If you're in 8th it'll be:
9th - Geometry
10th - Algebra II
11th Trig

Don't be nervous! Trig is actually much better than Algebra II, at least for me because I have a better teacher and the concepts haven't gotten to be too hard yet though it's only the first quarter. I'll give you an update in May lol

1. what excitement? I think you mean the relief that you no longer have to do math
2. I suppose, but I'm not going into that type of career and I don't know when the hell I'm going to need to graph a trig function for any career
3. We aren't given textbooks so...
4. The exams and test are hard because half the time they include material we never covered in class (again, probably the teacher's fault, but still)
5. I feel no joy because I am normally dead on my feet since it's taken me so long to finish
