The feeling of braces differs from person to person. Every person has a different problem. Mine, for example, is that my jaw-line is too small. So I wear braces to straighten and bring the teeth together like almost everybody. It just feels like there's pressure on your teeth for the first few days. Then it gets better. I got new ones recently so I'm constantly touching them..like now. But about a week later, I won't feel them. While it's being put on, your mouth dries up because it's open for so long and the back of your teeth is ~w~a~r~m~, but while putting the wire, it's nothing. My aunt told me that in the US, kids get to watch TV while all this is happening. Sadly, not the same case in India, but okay.
People do hate it because it makes them feel uncomfortable like any normal human being. I felt like I had fangs. But the fact is- it's not that bad after a point. People make opinions before they get them and then they don't like saying it's not that bad. That's why it's so underrated and hated. A lot depends on the dentist, too. Mine doesn't make it hurt, but he isn't exactly gentle. I don't like the appointments because I miss out on reading more but the bottom line- They are not so bad.

okay thank you niharika. not like that was reassuring but it doesn't sound all that bad, honestly. I hope mine doesn't hurt. I hate when your mouth dries, BLAECH! I'm getting them fucking tomorrow, which guess what? (I just learned that) I'm getting school picture taken on the damn next day. I told my stupid mom to wait! gah!

I just joined! Hello!
I just got my braces two weeks ago and that hasn't happened to me yet. They only hurt for the first 2 days. I haven't gotten my braces tightened yet though...
