'man on the run': a Listopia

Thanks! I'll be setting up more items like this in the near future. I myself am fascinated to see just how vast this genre is--all those names--no one ever mentions them. Nobody should ever have any complaints for 'want of action' around here.
p.s. what does 'sourced' mean in the context of your sentence above?

The merit of this list is that its at least 75 titles of which you probably only know 10-15 authors. Its a classic list, which means Joe Conrad, Erskine Childers, Hammond Innes, Alistair MaClean, are all represented. You'll recognize them, immediately.
But there's probably 40 other authors cited --called up from the murky depths of the 1940s, 50s, 60s, and 70s--which offer a rich trove for any of you seeking new titles. Man on the run!
The idea for this Listopia is the only part I had in this. For the titles themselves, I openly admit to cribbing them from a secret source I found on the web. Anyway, I hope you browse among these selections, and discover new names to pique your interest. After all, in many cases I could only add one novel from authors who conceivably have written dozens in this style. Each author therefore, represents on average 4-5 other un-cited works!
Let me hear your thoughts.
