The story begins with “John” murdering his first victim in New Orleans. Did it provide you with enough details to get a sense of what was to come?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) It was a fairly typical start for a murder mystery. Serial killer with psychological issues about the Catholic Church and some irrational fascination with the radio host. It did engage my interest in how it was all going to play out.

Lynn (ftbooklover) It was enough to know that the first victim probably wouldn't be the last, but that was about it.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments Yes, just enough to set the tone and indicate the religious overtones to the murders.

Surprisingly, it gave quite a few distinguishing characteristics of the killer that were consistent throughout the story. Even though I didn’t know his identity, it helped provide a picture.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments Yes. the beginning set the stage for what was to follow.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments The scene was creepy and did set the stage for the rest of the book. I didn't catch the religious aspect at first, but that soon became clear.
