Sarah (sekaplan) This is coming out in July and I am so excited that I wanted to share it with the group. When it comes out, I will be reading it for the catagory.

Breanna (auntbre) I THINK THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER READ!!! This could be so great or so terrible but I am so excited. How is the first I'm hearing of this?!

Jennifer (jenmarie1117) | 19 comments I want to read this book, too! They just announced this book this morning, Breanna, so that may be why we've been in the dark about it. SO EXCITED!!

Sarah (sekaplan) On second thought I will most likely not read the book, because before Harper Lee began experiencing dementia she stated multiple times that she didn't want the book published. The executors of her estate have always respected her wishes, but recently there had been a change of the guard and the new executors decided to go ahead and grant permission to publish it. Yes, I know this is debatable the New Yorker sure wants it's readers to give it the benefit of the doubt (http://www.newyorker.com/books/page-t...) but it still leaves me with too many questions. I am not in the habit of supporting things that take away autonomy and privacy from others.

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) I was excited to read this one right after I finished To Kill a Mockingbird, because I loved it so much. But the whole thing about publishing against Harper Lee's wishes and some reviews I read discouraged me. I don't think I'm read for a grown up Scout and an old, bitter Atticus. From what I've learned from the reviews, everything I loved about the original book would be destroyed in this one, so I'll just stay far away from it.

Candy | 4 comments Natalia-
I have to agree with you. To Kill A Mockingbird is such a classic that I don't want to know what happened to Scout and Atticus in the future. I think if Harper Lee truly wanted this book to be published - she would have published it years ago.

Amanda | 7 comments it makes to kill a mockingbird stand out more in my opinion as the great classic it is.

Summer This is the book I read for this category too. I loved it! It was emotional and thought provoking.
