Go Set a Watchman
question
Why I'm so pumped for TKAM2

I remember hating reading as a kid, I never had the attention for it. But I was required to read TKAM in 8th grade, and it became the first non-children's book I ever enjoyed. I may not have become an avid reader had it not been for TKAM. I read it again within a year, but the last time was nearly 20 years ago. Now the sequel is coming out, and it takes place 20 years later. How perfect?! In addition, it was written prior to TKAM, but the publisher wanted the story of Scout as a child so she replaced it with TKAM. Typically when an author's first book becomes an international phenomenon, the pressure and anticipation ultimately distracts the author's process and we're left with what feels like a deflated regurgitation. It seems as though we might actually get a sequel that won't taint the legacy of the classic. I've wanted to re-read TKAM for years, and now I have no excuse. I can't wait till July when I get to read them back-to-back.
