Gabe believes Everly was Maddox’s mistress based on office rumors and continued to distrust her despite the feelings he has for her. Why do you believe he chose to side with the rumors instead of investigating on his own?

He believes the rumors since they fit with what he knew about Maddox's personality, but he was also grieving and feeling guilty, so it might have been easier on his conscience to believe that he would have known if there was anyone more important in Mad's life.

The rumors fit the scenario that Gabe already developed in his head. It was easy for him to believe the rumors.

I felt the same way initially. But after awhile, his own good judgment should have prevailed. He became annoying.

I agree Jonetta. It went on too long. Even though Gabe was worried about his sister, he should see what was right in front of him

I agree. He was basing his opinions on his knowledge of Maddox's history with women.

Maddox's history played a big part, buy I think that his wild sex weekend with Everly played a big part too. He got in deeper than he ever wanted and when he comes face to face with her and the rumors about her and Maddox, he believed them. He didn't want to believe Everly had gotten to him the way she did.

How big an influence should it have been though. It all in the end comes across as an excuse for his deep feelings for someone that could have been his best friends woman.

I agree with everything too. He still couldn't get past the fact that she possibly was Mad's woman after Sarah and then how could things ever work between them. His sister would hate her and that was his only living relative.

Yes, this was telling.
Aside from the comment in the beginning that his parents will be glad he isn't gay when they find out about the video, we hardly learn anything about Gabe's parents.

As such, protecting and even appeasing Sara seems to be a priority for Gabe because she is the only family member he cares/cared about him.
