Dear Octipi,I'm afraid this might be our last letter exchange. The advisor who wrote your letter was found murdered! I will search for that Shadow-dragon tomorrow, from up above. Tell Conchie that if, let us hope not, I die, she will inherit the throne. Now, we must also prepare for Flow's funeral. Her daughters won't leave me alone until I properly arrange it. Poor soul, that Flow! What a clever, promising little dragon she was. Farewell, now.

"Phantom. Come on, I know you have news." Queen Skull replied to the non-present dragon near the cave. "I have none, master. You are, forgive me, mistaken." The dragonet answered, praying Skull didn't hear the tremor in her voice. "I can tell when your lying, fool. Don't you know what happens to disobedient soldiers?" The ex-queen gestured towards the elaborately made-fake dragon skeletons. In full sunlight, one could easily tell they were made of plastic, but in this dim cave the trick worked every single time. Phantom straightened her back and quickly spoke. "You know that tribe that you said was too snooty to join your ever-so-magnificent army?" she asked. "Sunwings! Those catterian fools, not taking a chance of riches. I offered them millions of jewels in exchange for their alliance and they denied. Too much bloodlust, they said. Can you believe it! Blood is the best thing in all of Liipia, don't you think?" Phantom didn't, but she knew not to disagree with Skull. So she said in her most obedient voice: "Yes, yes. That is why Bloodwings are the most powerful tribe!" Phantom also knew compliments to Bloodwings were the perfect way for Skull to forget about what she was talking about. "I have taught you well. Now, continue on?" Phantom cleared her throat. "Your ex ma- I mean,majesty believed they were slaughtered, yes? By the meteor, along with the Bloodwings? Queen Skull narrowed her eyes. "I trust my spies, Phantom. This better not be false!" "Their alive. And I.. found a dream-dreamvistor..?" Phantom squeaked uncharacteristically. She held out a star shaped sapphire and Skull smiled. Now this was worth her time.
*Queen Skull's flashback*"Does everyone agree?" Queen Toadstool asked. "I ask all: The Soilwings, the Gemwings, and the Scarletwings. We must reveal ourselves!" Queen Sapphire nodded her head. "We have been secret for far too long. The Gemwings accept. Now the queens and representatives were looking at the queen of 'Scarletwings'. "This was the way we live, the way we survived for years!" Queen Redding screeched. "The Scarletwings do not accept! Call us warmongers all you want, we don't accept! From now on, we will be called Bloodwings!" Everyone had horrified looks on their faces. "Edgy." Someone muttered. Then Queen Redding shot a blast of eye-venom at them, and they fell dead. Queen Sapphire looked betrayed. "If you change names, we will be called Diamondwings, and we declare war on the Bloodwings." Queen Sappire announced. "We are now the Shroomwings, and we don't want war! We were at peace! Keep it that way." The Diamondwings and Bloodwings stared hard at each other. "Very well, no war. But us Diamondwings will get revenge."
Skull woke up from her dream. She wondered why she had seen that, as she never knew anyone in that vision. She unwillingly closed her eyes and saw an odd insignia. A phoenix, rising from a red pool. It took her a moment to realize that was blood. Fungus bordered the pool, and there was a crown of diamonds on the phoenix's head. Skull knew what the others represented: Bloodwings, Shroomwings, and Diamondwings. But the phoenix was indeed a mystery... Wait. She had an idea.
Warfare smiled. "I suppose this why we're called Bloodwings, eh?" She asked Skull, both of them looking down at the battlefield. "You know, I met this dragon named Phoenix this morning." Warfare told her sister, lying on her chair while watching the generals direct the army. "Oh, let me guess, mother wanted to introduce you to an old friend of hers?" Skull said sarcastically. She had been in a much better mood now that she had decided she wanted to challenge mother. Warfare chuckled. "No, but he told me something really weird. Want some bloodercrest?" She offered, handing Skull a plate. She silently watched as both of them indulged in the rich meat, not found anywhere else on Liipia. After she finished eating, she continued. "He told me that one day, there will only be one Bloodwing left. I told him he was a crazy old dragon, and that he best lay down on those capybaras. But..." Warfare didn't say anything else, but the look on her face told Skull what she was thinking."You aren't seriously telling me you believed him?" Skull asked. The battle suddenly went intense as one of the generals was killed by an aggressive Diamondwing.
Dear Queen Shell,Tis I! Octipi! A mysterious animus dragon seemed to grant back my sight! Thank you for your helpful troops from above. However, we still cannot catch the shadow dragon! We saw Fruitfall in that same forest, your highness! We believe that Fruitfall is in kahoots with the shadow dragon. Your majesty, Mackerel is suggesting a meeting gathering all the queens to discuss the odd happenings in the forests, perhaps to see if similar things occurred in their territories. I believe this is a good idea so we have already sent messengers to Queen Glory and Queen Sandstorm. Let us know your thoughts.

Dear OctipiHello again, Octipi! I will indeed attend this meeting. We have caught something that belongs to the shadow dragon, so I decided we'll use it as bait. Flow's funeral has now been arranged, and it will happen next week. Tell Mackerel and the royal children that, I have found posters saying: QUEEN SHELL! MUST BE GONE! DESTROY HER! MEET AT THE TALON REEF!.. This might mean the citizens are turning against me

I must report something I found in the Nisty forests today. As I and the troops were traveling along, we found strange shapes on the trunks. They were the shadows of dragons, Your Majesty. Furthermore, when we tried to follow said shadows, half of your troops were trapped in the woods. I have seen the creature myself, your highness. Terrifying, it is, straight from a horror scroll. Huge white eyes, lashing red tail. I nearly found myself at death's door when I tried to face it. It blinded me, your highness. I needed your finest advisor to write this for me. Please, write soon. We're in danger.
